2024 Amtrak Berkshire Flyer Schedule & More

If you are traveling between Pittsfield, MA, and New York, NY, or using one of the many intermediate stops, this Amtrak Berkshire Flyer Schedule may help you plan your next Amtrak Adventure. The Berkshire Flyer is a seasonal train from Memorial Day to Labour Day. Tickets are available for purchase starting March 20, 2023.

Seating

Amfleet 1

Coach seating features comfortable seats, a fold-down tray, individual reading lights, and 120v electric outlets.

Business class includes extra legroom, a comfortable seat, and complimentary non-alcoholic beverages.

Additionally, Business Class customers receive a 25% bonus on Amtrak Guest Rewards points.

Wi-fi

Wi-Fi – is free and available on this train.

Food

According to the Amtrak website, there was no cafe car on this train in 2022, which could change in 2023. You can check if they added one this year when booking.

You may bring food and drink aboard the train, but you cannot consume alcohol on the train you brought aboard.

The Cafe Car offers a variety of hot and cold meals, snacks, and hot and cold beverages and is available for all customers for most of the journey. This car may close at the start and end of the route.

Bikes

Carry-On/Trainside bicyclesyou can bring up to 50 lbs. Standard bicycle sizes apply. Maximum tire width: 2”. Check the link for details, and bike service may not be available at all stations.

Pets

Amtrak allows dogs and cats up to 20 pounds (combined weight of pet and carrier) for trips up to seven hours.

These spots could be limited; you will know if you can bring a pet when booking. If you plan to bring your pet, consider the limitations and rules.

Luggage

This train does not offer a checked bag service; you can bring two pieces of luggage and two personal items. All bags must be under 50 pounds. For more information, check out Amtrak’s baggage policy.

Shuttle & Bus – Get From The Train To Where You Want

There is a shuttle service to take you those last few miles from/to the Pittsfield Intermodal Center (Amtrak train Station):

  • Fridays, the shuttle service from the Pittsfield Intermodal Center to the lodging destinations in the Berkshires.
  • Sundays, pick-up shuttle service from the lodging destinations in the Berkshires to the Pittsfield Intermodal Center.

There is a flat fare of $20 per person per ride to most lodging destinations in the Berkshires. Book your ride in advance (strongly preferred) or when you arrive in Pittsfield. (Based on 2022 numbers)

 A wheelchair-accessible van is available on request (call for price, advanced booking required).

Public Buses

Berkshire Regional Transit Authority provides public bus services throughout the Berkshires. Contact the BRTA at (413) 499-2782 for routes, schedules, and more information.
