You can bring a bike on your Amtrak trip, but there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Weight Limit: Your bike can weigh up to 50 pounds.
  • Size Limit: Only standard bicycle sizes, with a maximum tire width of 2 inches, are allowed.
  • Availability: Bike service may not be available at all stations, and this can change, so check ahead of time.

If you want to bring your furry friend along, Amtrak allows small dogs and cats:

  • Weight Limit: The combined weight of the pet and carrier must be 20 pounds or less.
  • Duration: Pets are allowed on trips up to seven hours.
  • Paperwork: Ensure you complete all necessary paperwork before arriving at the station.

For more details and to get the necessary forms, see Amtrak’s carry-on pet policy.

If you have a service or comfort animal, review Amtrak’s service animal policy to ensure your pet meets the qualifications before booking your trip.
