  • Comfortable seats
  • A fold-down tray
  • Individual reading lights
  • 120V grounded (three-prong) electric outlets.
  • A place above your seat and a rack in the car for your luggage.

Wi-fi & Entertainment

Amtrak offers free Wi-Fi on this train. While free, it does have some restrictions, as it can throttle or not allow streaming. You may not be able to download or upload large files.

This train does not offer streaming entertainment, but here are some entertainment ideas for you.

Amtrak Connecting Service

Amtrak Thruway Service provides transportation connections to destinations such as Bakersfield and Long Beach.

The cafe car offers:

  • A variety of hot and cold meals
  • Snacks
  • Hot and cold beverages, including adult beverages
  • You can consume your purchases in the cafe or at your seat.

Conductors and the cafe car attendant will inform you when it is open and where it is located, generally at one end of the train.

Bringing Food On The Pacific Surfliner

Amtrak allows passengers to bring personal food and drink aboard the train. However, passengers can only consume what they obtain at their seats, not in the cafe.

While you can bring alcohol on the train, you can’t consume it on the rails. If you get caught drinking your own or get out of hand, Amtrak conductors can remove you from the train.

You can bring a bike on your Amtrak trip, but there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Weight Limit: Your bike can weigh up to 50 pounds.
  • Size Limit: Only standard bicycle sizes, with a maximum tire width of 2 inches, are allowed.
  • Availability: Bike service may not be available at all stations, and this availability is subject to change, so please check ahead of time.
  • Reservation: When you make your reservation, reserve your bike. Please do not just show up with your bike, as space may not be available.

If you want to bring your furry friend along, Amtrak allows small dogs and cats:

  • Weight Limit: The combined weight of the pet and carrier must be 20 pounds or less.
  • Duration: Pets are allowed on trips up to seven hours.
  • Paperwork: Please ensure that you complete all necessary paperwork before arriving at the station.

For more details and to obtain the necessary forms, please refer to Amtrak’s carry-on pet policy.

If you have a service or comfort animal, review Amtrak’s service animal policy to ensure your pet meets the qualifications before booking your trip.

Each passenger may carry on:
